This blog is an attempt to share at least some of the teachings of Joseph Smith that lie unused, unread and unapplied as well as perhaps share a few thoughts and insights. In our day, much of what Joseph taught is cast aside and counted for naught. In large measure, we have forgotten Joseph and frankly nothing more can come to light until we remember Joseph and the truths and light he brought back in to this darkened world.

Like the morning dispels the dark of night, so truth dispels the darkness in our minds and if we will but seek knowledge or in other words light and truth D&C 93:36. The light of heaven illuminated the life and mind of Joseph because he believed and put faith in action after reading JAMES 1:5 Contrary to popular belief, this was not to be a singular experience for Joseph and others who lived in the past, whose record we have in scripture. Quite the opposite. It is to be your experience too! The purpose of scripture is to lead you, to inspire your mind and for you to recognize that you too are to rise up and exercise faith in the Redeemer of the world unto parting the veil and standing in his presence. Cast off your unbelief and shed the shackles that hold you back and bind you down. Part of that effort should include "remembering Joseph" and what he revealed, taught and exemplified. Examine his heart, view the fruits produced by what Joseph revealed and taught. Do not judge what you do not understand and have heard second hand from someone else. Was Joseph perfect? No. Did he have flaws? Indeed he did. Joseph never claimed infallibility. Just like you and me, he was mortal and subject to the same follies and mistakes that are common to all. If anything, the life of Joseph and what the Lord accomplished through his willingness to serve is remarkable. Further more it ought to give you, as if gives me, hope that the Lord can work with us, as broken and fault ridden as we are, to accomplish great good. Stand up and cast off your unbelief! Most everyone is held back by unbelief which takes on many forms including trusting in the arm of flesh. Let the light of truth shine in and purge the unbelief from your mind and soul. Ask the Lord to show you your unbelief. Instability is part of the process as the paradigm is reshaped and redrawn. Have faith, exercise it like Joseph did and expect the God of heaven and earth to answer your cries. May the restoration live on in you, may the breath of God rekindle the flame that is but an ember burning in your mind. Look to God and live.
